Tools

I've developed a pretty strong preferrence for open source software. Some tools to which I've acquired a bit of loyalty are:

Debian GNU/Linux (operating system)
Apache (web server)
PHP (hypertext preprocessor)
MySQL (relational database management system)

jQuery (javascript library)

Because the environment is evolving quickly, it's important to have access to good resources for staying on top of developments and trends. A few that I use frequently are:

I've been fortunate to play electric and upright bass wih some excellent bands and musicians, including:

Sports

I play ultimate and hockey. I've done a fair bit of web development for Kingston Ultimate including an online registration system (integrated with PayPal), a player management system for team captains, and a system for generating and managing the schedule and standings.
